INCENTIVES

On a Higher Level
Roanoke Rapids and Halifax County qualify for a variety of state economic development incentive programs. The state incentive programs are provided through the North Carolina Department of Commerce, and are largely dependent upon job creation and investment. Halifax County is designated as a Tier 1 County by the Department of Commerce, therefore Roanoke Rapids qualifies for the highest level of state incentives available. In addition, Roanoke Rapids is designated as an Urban Progress Zone by the Department of Commerce, qualifying certain census tracts within the city limits for an enhanced level of state incentives.
